I enjoy driving and I'm detail driven. If you're planing a road trip on historic roadways, they don't flow like interstate highways. Cities change and speed is more important for destination vacations. Most old highways went through towns, so obviously it takes longer to go from start to finish. My goal is to help you avoid wrong or missed turns, but more importantly I hope to show you what's out there.
What you'll need most is a partner. There is a lot of planning with these types of road trips. I like to use Google Maps or any web-based mapping platform that offer real-time traffic conditions. I do not set destinations. Rather, I use my typed directions and have Google Maps handy to reassure myself. A review of the day's itinerary the night before or the morning of is very helpful. At the very least, you should have some kind of map,
